Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Nino Tsatsiashvili held meeting with the representative of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), Ghassan Khalil and his colleagues.
At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and UNICEF reviewed jointly implemented projects as well as activities and shared the latest information on current and scheduled activities aimed at improving the protection of children's rights.
In the course of discussions, the agency’s decision to create the Main Division of Juvenile Affairs under Tbilisi Police Department was outlined and evaluated as step forward.
Ghassan Khalil expressed readiness to continue supporting the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia with the purpose to contribute to capacity building of the agency.
At the meeting certain fields have been identified, where the Ministry of Internal Affairs, within its competence, will have the opportunity to cooperate with the UN Children's Fund along with relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations.
