Deputy Minister of the Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri, conducted meeting with the Managing Director of the Crisis Response Department of the European External Action Service, Agostino Miozzo.
During the meeting the role of the Ministry of internal Affairs during the process of Emergency management and Crisis situations as well as planned reforms and the future cooperation perspectives with the Crisis Response Department were discussed.
EU Crisis Response Department provides world monitoring and information about the current situation during 24 hours. EU crisis response system is dealing with the consequences which are cause by political or armed conflicts, technological incidents, man-made and natural disasters.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Head of division of the Crisis Response Department in the European External Action Service, Stavros Petropoulos, Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Philip Dimitrov, representatives of the MIA International Relations Department, Emergency Management Department and LEPL “112”.
