Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Aleksandre Darakhvelidze, and Project Manager of the Capacity Building and Cooperation projects Unit of the Council of Europe Segolene Chesneau attended the closing ceremony of the HELP remote learning course, discussed the topical issues of combating violence against women and domestic violence and awarded certificates to the participants. At the end of the event, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs thanked the participants of the course and the Council of Europe for their support and fruitful cooperation.
The training course was intended for the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The aim of the course was to improve the knowledge and skills of law enforcement officers in accordance with national legislature and international standards on fight against violence against women and domestic violence.
The participants were informed about the contemporary challenges in the fight against violence against women and domestic violence, as well as the measures that are, on the one hand, vital for the crime prevention and on the other hand, essential for effective response.
HELP course was developed in the framework of the Council of Europe project – “Promoting an integrated approach to end violence against women and enhancing gender equality in Georgia”. The project has been implemented since 2020 in close cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
