Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Internal Affairs - Vakhtang Gomelauri visited the local headquarters of the Emergency Situations Management Service established in the village of Baileti, Ozurgeti district, Guria region.
The Head of the Emergency Situations Management Service - Temur Mghebrishvili, introduced the main tasks of the headquarters to the Minister of Internal Affairs and provided detailed information on the planned rescue measures.
In 6 local headquarters established in Guria region, reports related to the problems caused by heavy snowfall are received and appropriate responses are made, including both planning and implementing rescue operations, as well as visiting citizens in need of medical assistance.
Along with firefighters, representatives of the defense, police forces and medical services are present at the headquarters. All relevant special equipment has been mobilized on site.
Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed gratitude towards the firefighters and all those involved in the rescue operations for their hard work.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also had a conversation with the local population in the village of Baileti and received information on their needs.
Vakhtang Gomelauri also visited Guria Police Department, where he met with the department's employees. Vakhtang Gomelauri thanked the law enforcement officers for their contribution to eliminating the problems caused by heavy snowfall in the region and gave them relevant tasks.
