Within the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Spain, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia - Vakhtang Gomelauri, held a meeting with the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain - Fernando Grande-Marleska Gomez. within the framework of his official visit.
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Shalva Badoidze.
Within the Framework of the meeting, parties discussed the effective bilateral cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of two countries.
Fernando Grande-Marleska Gomez reaffirmed to Vakhtang Gomelauri the support of the Kingdom of Spain for Georgia’s EU integration process.
The parties of the meeting also stressed the role of the police attaches in the development of police cooperation between two countries, as well as, the importance of the agreement between Georgia and the Kingdom of Spain in fight against crime, the work carried out by the joint analysis teams and the fruitful cooperation within the EUROPOL.
The Spanish side expressed readiness to further enhance the relations and share experience in the areas such as: drug-related crime, illegal migration, capacity building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, etc.
At the end of the meeting, Vakhtang Gomelauri expressed his gratitude to the Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Spain for successful cooperation and invited him to pay a corresponding visit to Georgia.
