Minister of Internal Affairs Aleksandre Tchikaidze, Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili along with members of the Georgian government attended funerals of four Georgian warriors who died in the plane crash in Babushera Airport. Vasiko Tsiklauri, Nukri Tsiklauri, Temur Zaldastanishvili and Zurab zaldastanishvili were buried at Didi Dighomi cemetery with military honors.
Explosion in Babushera Airport took place on September 22, 1993. Exhumation of brothers’ burial place at on Babushera cemetery was carried out in summer of 2014 with the involvement of Argentinian expert-anthropologists. With the aim of identification remains were transferred to Levan Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau. DNA profiles and biological materials of the family members of the deceased were transferred to laboratory in Zagreb for identification. On December 4, 2014 Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refugees of Georgia received report on identification of four remains by the Red Cross International Committee.
