Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Shalva Khutsishvili took part in the meeting dedicated to the changes planned in traffic safety sphere. Deputy Minister acquainted representatives of Parliament, City Hall and non-governmental organizations to the changes envisaged by the new draft law on traffic safety and provided detailed answers to all questions.
“At the meeting all parties are present, including Parliament, Government, and non-governmental sector. We have reached consensus on the majority of the issues. After the initiation of the draft law, society was able to realize that Ministry’s initiatives were right and even necessary. This meeting is aimed to trigger the adoption of the draft law in the shortest period of time,”-stated Shalva Khutsishvili.
At the meeting sides discussed scoring system, remote patrolling, terms for issuing driver license and safety issues of the pedestrians, as well as possibility to make regulations even stricter for speeding, drunk driving and wrong maneuvering.
The meeting was held under the organization of “Georgian Alliance for the Safe Roads”.
