The Head of the MIA Border Police, Temur Kekelidze paid an official visit to Brussels to participate at the Partnerships and Cooperative Security Committee (PCSP) meeting that included the Black Sea security issues.
Mr. Kekelidze briefed the participants on the progress in NATO-Georgia cooperation in the field of the Black Sea security, while also presenting the ongoing and upcoming projects of the Georgian Coast Guard.
The Georgian delegation, together with Allies, reviewed the progress made in the implementation of the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) and discussed prospects of further development of cooperation. Discussions also addressed the upcoming visit of the North Atlantic Council (NAC) to Georgia.
Within the framework of the visit, Temur Kekelidze held a bilateral meeting with the NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia - James Appathurai. The parties to the meeting discussed enhancement of security in the Black Sea region and the role of the Georgian Coast Guard in this regard.
