General-Major Zurab Gamezardashvili, Chief of the MIA Border Police of Georgia visited N1 Border Sector “Mutso”, N2 Border Sector “Shatili”, N3 Border Sector “Tergha” and N5 Border Sector “Tanie” of the Border Police N6 Office (Barisakho). The sectors are located on the Georgian-Russian State Border.
The Chief of the MIA Border Police of Georgia personally attended the rotation of border guards. He expressed his gratitute towards the border guards for their successful work, congratulated with the upcoming new-year and presented the new-year gifts and personal congratulations from the Minister of Interior of Georgia, Alekssandre Tchikaidze. General-Major Zurab Gamezardashvili touched upon the future plans for 2015, declaring that living and working conditions of every Georgian Border Guard will be improved.
Improving work conditions for the border guards is one of the top priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In 2014 the Border Police of Georgia was additionally funded by the MIA to build new border sectors on the Georgian-Russian, the Georgian-Azerbaijan and the Georgina-Armenian state borders. It should be outlined that border guards’ salaries have substantially increased since February, 2014. 3 border sectors have been built on the Georgian-Russian State border, while 2 have been built on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border segment. 3 other sectors have been built on the Georgian-Armenian State border and one more has been built on the Georgian-Turkish state border.
