Attachs of NATO member and partner countries accredited in Georgia paid a visit to the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The guests were met by the Head of the Border Police Mr. Teimuraz Kekelidze and representatives of the Coast Guard Department.
At the meeting the sides discussed the issues of development of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the priorities. Also, the role of the Coast Guard, border security situation and inter-agency cooperation issues were discussed in details. As it was mentioned at the meeting, maritime security is an important initiative of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package.
Participants of the meeting spoke about the importance of effective coordination between security agencies. The sides focused on the importance of active cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Georgia in the security field and discussed the possibilities of deepening cooperation and sharing experience with the representatives of various military agencies of different countries.
