The border policemen from the Coast Guard Department and Operative-Investigation Main Office of the MIA Border Police of Georgia had carried out joint operation and detained a dry-cargo ship sailing under the flag of the Republic of Turkey - “MECIT KAPTAN” - on the charge of violation of the navigation rules in the Georgian Territorial Waters.
The captain of the “MECIT KAPTAN” was charged according to the Code of Administrative Offences of Georgia, Article 1141, Part I and was imposed Gel 50 000 fine. The dry-cargo ship was allowed to sail unrestricted after her captain had paid the imposed fine.
