Operative-Investigation Main Office of the MIA Border Police of Georgia detained citizen of Georgia Giorgi L. (DoB 1960) on the fact smuggling of breach of customs procedures on the nearby territory of the Vale Checkpoint.
The officers of Border Police, seized tobacco in especially large quantities – 50984 boxes of cigarettes as a result of searching carried out in the detainees owned car. Investigation established, that Giorgi L. was trying to carry tobacco illegally from Georgia to Turkey.
Investigation is in progress on the attempted inflow of a large quantity of movable objects across the customs border of Georgia, done without customs control article 19-214 I part of the Criminal Code of Georgia. Investigation is carried out by Operative-Investigation Main Office of the MIA Border Police of Georgia.
