From August 15, 2017 amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Georgia have been initiated regarding acoustic noise norms of the premises of residential buildings and public building/institutions and territories according to which administrative responsibility applies on:
• Exceeding the norms of acoustic noise in residential buildings and public building/institutions during the day or night time period;
• Use of pyrotechnic material during night hours.
The authorized unit/person from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will make response in accordance of the law on the facts of violation of acoustic noise norms, based on the notification received from citizens.
According to the amendments:
On the first fact of exceeding the norms of acoustic noise, individual or the legal entity will receive the warning, whereas the fact of the repeated violation within 1 year period after receiving the warning, will result in fining an individual with 150 GEL and legal entity with 500 GEL.
Use of pyrotechnic material by an individual during night time will cause the fine in the amount of 150 GEL, while for the same action legal entity will be fined with 500 GEL.
For the second time after the commencement of this type of violation within a one year period, each subsequent violation will cause the fine for an individual in the amount of 300 GEl, while legal entities will be fined with -1000 GEL.
The acceptable norm of acoustic noise varies for the day time (08:00 am to 23:00) and the night (23:00 to 08:00) time periods.
The acceptable norms of acoustic noise are established by the technical regulations adopted by the Government of Georgia.
