In accordance with the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease and to actively monitor the citizens, special police infrastructure was organized and checkpoints arranged at the entrances and exit ways of Batumi by the sub-units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Employees of the Emergency Situation Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arranged field tents at the entrance and exit ways of the city. The police has already started monitoring the preventive measures imposed against the spread of coronavirus in Adjara region.
According to the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council, all citizens entering and leaving Batumi are subjected to thermo-screening on the spot, and in case of fever, they will also be tested.
The police forces are carrying out preventive measures along with the employees of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
It is notable that entering or leaving Batumi and Adjara municipalities is not restricted and no other strict quarantine restrictions imposed.
Law enforcers provide local population with comprehensive information on the ongoing preventive measures to eliminate the spread of the virus and render assistance in case of necessity.
All persons on the territory of Georgia must follow requirements of the Georgian legislation on public health.
