The officers of Vani police division under Imereti-Racha-lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained S.J. (DoB 1976) for sexual harassment.
Vani police division was addressed by a female who stated that she had been sexually harassed by a man residing in her neighborhood.
As a result of the relevant police activities it was established that S.J. perpetrated sexual harassment against N.J. in one of the streets of the town of Vani. In particular, S.J. addressed the victim with sexually explicit phrases and committed sexual behavior in front of her, which was perceived as degrading and insulting behavior by the victim.
The court fully shared the arguments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and S.J. was convicted of sexual harassment under the first part of Article 166 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Georgia. According to the court decision, S.J. was fined with 300 GEL.
