Officers of the Main Investigation Department and the Main Detective (Operational) Department of Tbilisi Police Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as Didube-Chughureti and Gldani-Nadzaladevi Police Departments, have arrested 7 people on drug charges as a result of operational measures and investigative actions carried out at different times.
The following individuals have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage, sale, preparation and attempt to sell narcotic drugs in a particularly large amount, as well as illegal purchase and storage of the narcotic drug marijuana in a particularly large amount and illegal cultivation of a plant containing narcotic drugs in a particularly large amount: N.S., born in 1999, O.G., born in 1986, A.A., born in 2005, Sh.I., born in 1999, M.G., born in 1999, D.A., born in 1996, and U.M., a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1975.
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years of imprisonment.
Based on the judge's ruling, the police carried out several undercover drug purchases and secretly recorded the aforementioned purchases.
As a result of the personal search of the defendants and search activities held in their temporary residential apartments and during the investigative experiment, law enforcement officers seized the narcotics "buprenorphine", "heroin", "alpha-PVP", "dried marijuana" and the cannabis plant containing the narcotic drug, which were placed for sale, as evidence from the locations indicated by them.
Herewith, equipment intended for the cultivation of the narcotic plant, an electric scale and polyethylene zip-lock bags were seized.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260, 273, 19-260 (3), 18-260 (3) and 265 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
