The officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 14 drug dealers in Tbilisi, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, Adjara, Imereti and Samegrelo regions as a result of operative measures and investigative activities.
The following persons were detained for illegal purchase, keeping and selling and the attempted selling of drugs: T.L. (DoB 1967), A.M. (DoB 1972), M.C. (DoB 1986), I.B. (DoB 1977), Z.L. (DoB 1975), D.J. (DoB 1982), A.K. (DoB 1995), G.A. (DoB 1990), K.B. (DoB 1980, Nicknamed "Kokinich"), G.S. (DoB 1984, Nicknamed "Lisovich"), previously convicted B.F. (DoB 1974) And a foreign citizen - A.C. (DoB 1980), S.G. (DoB 1982) and T.M. (DoB 1981);
The committed crimes envision up to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The covert investigative activities carried out by the law enforcers based on the judge's verdict revealed that the accused persons sold drugs on the regular basis.
The police, based on the relevant court decision, several times carried out the so-called control purchases of various types of drugs from the persons arrested for illegal drug trafficking and recorded the process.
Law enforcement officers seized large and especially large quantities of drugs sold by the detainees, namely "heroin", "heroin" powder, "alpha pvp" and "buprenorphine" as evidence.
As a result of detainees’ personal search and search activities held in their residential apartments police seized various types of drugs and money earned presumably from drug sales.
Investigation is underway under Article 19-260, Parts III, IV, V and VI, article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates illegal purchase, keeping and selling and the attempted selling of drugs.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues its uncompromising fight against drug-related crime. This year alone, law enforcement officers, as a result of operative measures and investigative activities, arrested 88 drug dealers and seized as evidence various types of drugs in especially large quantities.
