The officers of Kareli police division under Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-search and investigative activities, detained several times convicted in past (including armed robbery, theft and membership of the “Thieves World”) M.Zh. (DoB 1957) in Kareli for armed robbery perpetrated by the group.
Committed crime envisages from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
Investigation established that detainee, along with his accomplices assaulted citizen Z.A. (DoB 1983) on the highway located adjacent to Leteti village, Kareli municipality. Under the pressure of the cold steel and threats of liquidation, detainee illegally seized “Toyota Land Cruiser” vehicle from his victim.
Law enforcers located the abducted vehicle in vicinities of the village of Osiauri, Khashuri municipality. At the moment, complex investigative police activities are underway.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of armed robbery of transportation means, article 179, II part, sub-paragraphs “B” and “C” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
