The officers of Tbilisi Police Department and Isani-Samgori Police Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained G.B. (DoB 1992) for premeditated murder committed under aggravating circumstances committed against two or more family members.
The committed crime envisions from 16 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
On April 27, 2022, Isani-Samgori Police Main Division received a report on fire in one of the apartments located in IV micro-district of Vazisubani, Tbilisi. Rescuers arrived at the scene and found the door of the apartment locked from inside. After breaking into the apartment and fire extinguishing activities, the burnt bodies of Z.B. (DoB 1964) and his wife- L.T. (DoB 1967) were found with gunshot wounds to the head.
The investigation established that the accused person shot his sleeping parents - Z.B. and L.T. - in the head, as a result of which both of them died on the spot.
G.B. staged a robbery to cover up the traces of crime, namely: he took clothes and various items out of the closets, found the money and gold jewelry belonging to the parents, then deliberately started a fire in the apartment and fled the scene.
The tools of the crime, the cash taken from the apartment and the gold jewelry were seized as evidence.
An investigation is in progress into the fact of premeditated murder committed against two or more family members under aggravating circumstances under Article 11- 109, Part II, Subparagraph “F” and Article 109, Part III, Subparagraph “A” of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
