The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained G.M.(DoB 1993) on charges of taking two people as hostages in one of the workshops located in Kaspi.
The accused person broke into the territory of one of the workshops located in Kaspi and took two citizens as hostages under the threats and pressure of the shotgun.
Upon receiving the report regarding the assault, law enforcement officers were immediately mobilized at the crime scene. Police cordoned off the site as a result of immediate response and launched special operative and investigative measures.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Vladimer Bortsvadze arrived at the site and personally led the police activities.
As a result of several hours of intensive negotiations led by the law enforcers with G.M. people taken as hostages were safely released from illegal captivity and transferred by police to safe area.
After releasing the hostages, police arrested the attacker at the scene.
The investigation is in progress under article 144, part 2, sub-paragraphs "C" and "H" of the Criminal Code of Georgia, envisaging taking two or more people as hostages under the threats dangerous to life.
