The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues uncompromising fight against drug-related crime, including the selling drugs through internet.
The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs exposed an unprecedented large-scale scheme of illegal production-purchase-keeping and realization of drugs in Georgia. Foreign citizen is detained on the basis of the respective Court decision.
Committed crime envisages from 6 to 11 years of imprisonment.
The officers of the Main Division for the Fight against Illegal Circulation of Drugs, as a result of complex search and investigative activities held in Batumi and Tbilisi, detained the citizen of Kazakhstan – A.A (born in 1993) in Tbilisi on the basis of operative information.
The investigation established that the detainee belonged to a group of drug dealers and was involved in the scheme of internet drug dealership and drug production of "Mephedrone". By means of special lab equipment and with various chemicals as well as precursors, A.A. manufactured "Mephedrone" drug at his place of temporary residence and sold them through internet
On the basis of the relevant court decision, law enforcers made several purchases of “Mephedrone” drug under cover from the detainee and videotaped the process. Law enforcement officers also managed to depict the process of drug production at the laboratory under the relevant Court decision as well.
Police seized up to 2 kg. and 300 Gr. of “Mephedrone” drug as a result of search activities held in detainee’s place of temporary residence and caches located in various locations. During the search activities of A.A.’s place of temporary residence, policemen also seized special chemicals and precursors as well as laboratory inventory aimed for drug production. The cost of the seized drugs on the black market amounts to 1,200,000 GEL.
Investigation is in progress under the article 260, I and IV parts and article 266 I part of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
