The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department and Special Tasks Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the General Prosecutor’s Office detained 20 drug dealers in Ponichala settlement and different districts of Tbilisi and 8 individuals for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities as a result of a complex operative and investigative activities.
The detainees are as follows: I.S.(DoB1986), E.Sh. (DoB 1991), A.J. (DoB 1987), S.K. (DoB 1985), F.M. (DoB 2002). A.K. (DoB 1999) P.M. (DoB 1983), V.J. (DoB 1999), K.G. (DoB1991), I.K., (DoB 1998), E.M. (DoB1998), G.S. (DoB 1979), L.G. (DoB 1988) G.M. (DoB1995), G.B. (DoB 1994), I.M. (DoB1993), D.S. (DoB 1983). citizen of India - P.M. (DoB 1997), R.J., (DoB 1979), D.K. (DoB 1976), F.I. (DoB 1995), B.R. (DoB1974). K.V. (DoB 1996), F.A. (DoB 1987), E.P. (DoB1980), Sh.A. (DoB 1998), H.A. (DoB 1967) and R.A. (DoB1983);
The committed crime envisages from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The investigation established that the detained drug dealers were selling drugs on a regular basis.
Following the relevant court ruling, the law enforcers repeatedly carried out the so-called “control purchases” of "Heroin" and "Alpha-PVP" drugs from the defendants and recorded the process.
During the search of the detainees' private and residential houses, the police seized cash and mobile phones as evidence. In addition to the mentioned, up to 1 kilogram of "Heroin" drug was seized. During the personal search of one of the accused - D.K. policemen seized 129 pills and 2 pieces of Subutex drug.
During the search of the apartment owned by B.R., law enforcement officers seized pistols, a silencer and 5 magazines as evidence.
The investigation is in progress on the fact of illegal purchase-keeping and selling drugs and psychoactive substances in especially large quantities as well as on the fact of illegal purchase, keeping and carrying of a firearm – articles 260, I, II and VI parts and 236, III part envisaged by the Criminal Code of Georgia.
