The employees of Adjara and Shida Kartli Police Departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of jointly conducted immediate operative-search measures and investigative activities, arrested two foreign citizens on the charge of premeditated murder committed in a group under aggravating circumstances, against two or more persons.
The following persons are detained: IJ (DoB 1986) and B.T. (DoB 1985).
The committed crime envisions up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
The investigation established that on December 7 of the current year, under the motive of revenge, the defendants shot four foreign citizens: F.T., (DoB 2000), V.D. (DoB 1997), Ch.C. (DoB 2004) and A.S. (DoB 2005) – in a place of temporary residence in Batumi after which they fled the scene.
As a result of wounds received, three people died on the spot, and one was pronounced dead later in a medical facility.
As a result of operative measures and investigative actions, the law enforcement officers stopped the defendants while driving on Shida Kartli section of Tbilisi-Senaki-Leselidze central highway and arrested them as defendants.
The law enforcement officers seized three firearms, cartridges and a magagazines as evidence.
The investigation into the incident is being conducted under subsections "i" and "l" of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
