Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Nino Tsatsiashvili along with the Deputy Chief of the Mission of the Council of Europe to Georgia- Vahagn Muradyan attended the opening of the training course on judicial and psychological aspects of juvenile justice aimed for the investigators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and addressed the audience with a speech.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs reviewed the importance of improving the mechanism for the protection of the rights and interests of juveniles in the justice system and capacity building of law enforcement officers in this regard. Nino Tsatsiashvili expressed gratitude towards the Council of Europe for the provided support and cooperation.
Training participants were also addressed by the Deputy Chief of the Mission of the Council of Europe to Georgia- Vahagn Muradyan, who noted that the Council of Europe is ready to further support training programs aimed for capacity building of the investigators.
The mentioned training is being implemented within the scope of the project of the Council of Europe – “Support of the Juvenile and Adult Convicts”.
The training module is based on the training materials of authoritative international organizations and is loaded with both theoretical and practical aspects.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to actively cooperate with local and international organizations in order to improve the competence and qualification of investigators working in the field of juvenile justice.
