The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in close coordination with other units of the Agency, effectively ensures the fight against illegal migration within the country. In particular, over the past month, 97 citizens of various countries were deported from the country.
Some of the foreign citizens left Georgia voluntarily, while others were deported as a result of measures taken by the Migration Department employees. The deported persons were banned from entering the country in accordance with the law.
A total of 97 citizens of India, Belarus, China, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Russia, Bangladesh, the United States, Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Cameroon, Jordan, and Kyrgyzstan were deported from Georgia.
The Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the body responsible for combating illegal migration within the country. One of its competencies is to identify and deport foreign citizens who are in Georgia without a legal basis.
