The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vakhtang Gomelauri held a meeting through video conference with the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, Agne Bilotaite.
Within the frames of the meeting the parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding, which envisages the cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs of the two countries for the years of 2021-2022.
The parties agreed that they will conduct cooperation in the areas stipulated in the document, such as management of emergencies, professional education, fight against cybercrime, road safety, etc., through participation in joint projects and programs, sharing experience, organizing study visits and trainings.
During the meeting the parties underlined friendly relations between the two countries and Lithuania’s unwavering support towards Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as Georgia’s integration into European Union and Euro-Atlantic structures.
The Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Lithuania, Levan Ghvachliani and the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Georgia, Andrius Kalindra also participated in the video conference.
