Firefighters of the Emergency Situations Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs extinguished fire that broke out in the forest area near the village of Lechuri, Telavi municipality, Kakheti.
According to information received from the Public Safety Command Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - "112", smoke was observed in the leafy forest near the village of Lechuri. The fire has spread to the forest understory, thorn-bard and dry tree branches.
As a result of intensive work conducted by firefighters, it was possible to localize the fire and then completely extinguish it.
Up to 50 firefighters and drones were involved in the process of extinguishing the fire. Due to the difficult terrain, it was not possible to bring fire-rescue equipment to the epicenter of the fire.
Throughout the night, for prevention and monitoring reasons, the fire-rescue team of the Emergency Situations Management Service was on site.
