The employees of Investigation and Detective divisions under Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the operational search measures and investigative actions, arrested 5 people.
G.B. (DoB 1976), M.R. (DoB 1976), and Z.B. (DoB 1972), were arrested for robbery in large quantities committed by the group with prior arrangement.
A.A (DoB1985) was detained on the charges of large-scale robbery committed by a pre-arranged group and illegal deprivation of liberty committed by a pre-arranged group against two or more persons.
L. M. (DoB 1985 ) is charged with robbery committed by a group with a prior agreement and illegal restriction of freedom committed by a group with a prior agreement against two or more persons.
The committed crimes envision from 4 to 11 years of imprisonment.
As for N.B. (DoB 1996) and G.T. (DoB1989), relevant operational measures and investigative actions are in progress in order to determine their whereabouts and arrest them.
The investigation established that G.B., N.B., M.R. and Z.B. unlawfully abducted 600 sheep from L.M.'s farm under the threats of violence.
In order to settle the conflict between L.M. and G.B. and solve the disagreement, LM's side applied to the criminal authority – A.A.
The investigation also established that A.A. and G.T. illegally restricted freedom to shepherds, after which they unlawfully took possession of 1068 sheep belonging to G.B.
Police seized AK-74 automatic firearm, a magazine and cartridges, as well as “Nagan” pistol with cartridges. A.A. and G.T. allegedly got rid of the firearms while evading legal responsibility.
The investigation is being conducted under Articles 178, 236 and 143 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
