Since the tragedy near Gudauri, where 8 people - including pilots of the Border Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, rescuers of the Emergency Situations Management Service, and medics were killed, 2 years have passed.
On July 29th of 2022 during a rescue operation helicopter of the Border Police suffered a disaster.
According to the decision of the Minister of Internal Affairs, four pilots and two rescuers who died during the tragedy were awarded with the I degree medal of the Ministry for “exceptional merits".
