Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Mgebrishvili held meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Sweden, Bjrn Soder, who is in Georgia within the frames of the official visit.
The sides discussed issues of enhancing cooperation between Georgian and Swedish law enforcement agencies. At the meeting the importance of an “Agreement on Cooperation in the Law Enforcement Sphere between the Governments of Georgia and Sweden” signed on February7 of the current year was especially emphasized.
In December of 2016, we sent police attache to Sweden who ensures direct, fast, effective cooperation with Swedish law enforcement agencies. Besides Sweden, Georgia has already deployed police attaches in 13 partner states and considering examples of other states, appointment of attaches has garnered huge results with regard to the cooperation on the fight against crime”-stated Giorgi Mgebrishvili.
Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia introduced Deputy Chairman of Parliament of Sweden with the current and planned reforms implemented at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
At the end of the meeting Giorgi Mghebrishvili thanked Bjorn Soder and Swedish Kingdom for supporting Georgia throughout European and Euro-Atlantic integration process.
