Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgia Mgebrishvili met with the Minister of Interior of Latvia- Rihards Kozlovskis. Minister of Interior of Latvia along with delegation specially arrived to Georgia to attend Policeman’s day.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili and Rihards Kozlovskis have signed joint statement “On the Cooperation between Minister of Internal Affairs Georgia and Minister of Interior of Latvia in the Sphere of European Aspirations”. The document aims to emphasize the willingness of the parties to develop and deepen bilateral relations for strengthening cooperation between relevant agencies, including the context of European aspirations.
According to a joint statement, Georgian and Latvian law enforcers will share experiences and best practices regarding the fight against organized crime and in the sphere of implemented reforms.
Giorgi Mgebrishvili thanked the Latvian side for expressing strong support in the process of European integration and visa liberalization of Georgia and for the contribution made in this regard.
"We appreciate Latvian support for Georgia's aspirations to become a member of the European and Euro-Atlantic Community. The EU member states are of particular importance in the process of European integration. The joint statement on cooperation in the field of European aspirations is yet another clear confirmation that we have a common way of development and are ready to help each other as much as possible, "- stated Georgian Minister of Internal Affairs
Giorgi Mgbrishvili introduced Latvian counterpart to the current, planned novelties and reforms in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. The sides set out future cooperation plans.
