The Vice Prime Minister, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakharia held a meeting with George Kent, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs.
Parties to the meeting discussed current security situation in the country as well as in the region. Giorgi Gakharia and George Kent also addressed the challenges related to land border and coast guard and highlighted the necessity for deepening of the bilateral cooperation.
The Minister also introduced to the Assistant Secretary of State the reforms planned within the framework of the “System Renewal”. Giorgi Gakharia expressed his gratitude to George Kent for the U.S. State Department`s continues support and assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
