On 21 November 2014 three former inmates of low risk were transferred from Guantanamo Detention Camp to Georgia on the basis of the request of the United States of America, strategic partner of Georgia. The abovementioned persons enjoy safe stay in Georgia. They will live in Georgia within the frames of rehabilitation and re-socialization humanitarian program.
A number of partner countries, including Georgia, cooperate with the United States of America in the given issue. Namely, in 2010 three inmates were transferred from Guantanamo Detention Camp to Georgia, who after finishing the program safely returned to their countries. These three inmates, like those transferred in 2010, will return to their countries as well after finishing rehabilitation and re-socialization humanitarian program.
