European Parliament adopted a
resolution on the implementation of the EU Association Agreement with Georgia. The resolution positively assessed activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in fighting against crime and human rights protection.
The European Parliament resolution commended the strengthened international law enforcement cooperation between Georgia and Europol. The document also pinpoints the importance of increased cooperation between Georgian and the EU Member States’ law enforcement agencies for reducing cross-border crime, particularly human trafficking and the trafficking of illegal drugs.
The European Parliament welcomes the work of the Human Rights Protection and Quality Monitoring Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the field of human rights protection.
552 Members of the European Parliament voted in favor of the resolution.
