14 employees of the Law Enforcement and Sea Security Tactical Divisions of the Coast Guard Department and 16 employees of the Rapid Response Main Division of the MIA Border Police have been trained in the Poti base of the Coast Guard Department of the MIA Border Police of Georgia.
The training course was conducted by instructors of the UK Royal Navy 42 Commando Marines.
Training course covered: medical combat training, boarding procedures in different meteorological conditions, close quarters battle and live ex at shooting ranges. Participants also had opportunity to fulfil theoretical knowledge in practice.
After completion of the training course, a certificate award ceremony was held. The ceremony was attended by the British Ambassador to Georgia Mark Clayton, the British Military Attache to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan Steven Quantrill, as well as, the director of the Coast Guard Department of MIA Border Police of Georgia Ramaz Papidze and the head of the Rapid Response Main Division of MIA Border Police of Georgia.
This marks the second iteration of the training course being conducted in Georgia. The program aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance the tactical proficiency of the participants.
