The officers of Anti-corruption Agency as a result of searching and investigative activities exposed representative of Dmanisi Local municipality to Irganchai village-Alibai Gasanov for demanding bribe.
Investigation established that Gasanov made fake certificate confirming as if certain citizen purchased 48 tons of potato seeds from the residents of the abovementioned village. In return for the mentioned favor Gasanov demanded from the citizen 900 USD as a bribe. It was established that the certificate was needed to confirm the origin of the purchased potato. Gasanov told the citizen that it would be impossible to purchase 48 tons of potato in Irganchai village but in return proposed that he was able to issue the relevant certificate regardless where the potato was purchased. Law enforcers detained Gasanov on the fact of bribery in Dmanisi region.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of bribery, article 338, I part, which envisaged from 6 to 9 years of imprisonment.
