In accordance with the decision made by the Interagency Coordination Council of the Government of Georgia, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease and to actively monitor the citizens, special police infrastructure has been arranged and police checkpoints enacted in the village of Matani, Akhmeta Municipality.
Employees of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arranged field tents at the entrance and exit ways of the village Matani.
Police already started to monitor preventive activities imposed against the spread of coronavirus at checkpoints in round-the-clock regime.
According to the decision of the Interagency Coordination Council, all citizens entering and leaving the village of Matani are subjected to on-site thermo-screening and testing. The police forces are taking preventive measures in cooperation with the staff of the National Center for Disease Control.
It is notable that entry and exit to the village of Matani and other villages in Akhmeta Municipality are not restricted and no other strict quarantine restrictions imposed.
Law enforcers have been providing local population with comprehensive information on the ongoing preventive measures to eliminate the spread of the virus throughout the night and rendered assistance in case of necessity.
Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conduct intensive patrolling of the village to maintain public order and security. All persons on the territory of Georgia must follow requirements of the Georgian legislation on public health.
