Within the framework of the Trust Recovery Program and on the initiative and mediation of the European Council, the meeting between Georgian-Abkhazian representatives took place in Istanbul, October 27-29, 2015. The meeting applied following issues: Management of archival materials; The Convention for the protection of individuals with regard to automatic processing of Personal Data; Also, preparatory works and future plans regarding Georgian-Abkhazian joint publication within the project - “Restore History with Archive”. More

Official visit of MIA Archive to Poland

On March 21-25, 2015 on the invitation of the Institute of National Remembrance - Commission for the Prosecution of Crimes against the Polish Nation, a delegation from MIA Archive of Georgia paid an official visit to Warsaw, Poland. More

The 2015 calendar composed by the MIA Archive was given to the descendants of Georgianheroes

The Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia hosted the descendants of heroes of the 20th century. The head of the MIA Academy and MIA Archive gave them the 2015 calendar which is dedicated to the Georgian heroes. The event was attended by the descendants of Georgian heroes: Ilamaz Mitsishvili, Lela Gotua, Guranda Ghvaladze, Rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili, Director of MIA Archive Omar Tushurashvili and other representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia. More

MIA Archive held the presentation of documentary film and book composed on the basis of archive materials in Guria region

Within the framework of cooperation between Archive of Ministry of Internal Affairs, Chokhatauri Municipality and media house “Guria News”, special event “Restore history together with Archives” was held at movie theatre “Guria” located in Chokhatauri. The event was attended by Rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili, Director of MIA Archive Omar Tushurashvili, Head of Main Division of Guria Region Giorgi Mdinaradze, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Teona Akubardia, heads of Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri municipalities, representatives of the non-governmental sector, local school teachers, pupils and journalists. Noteworthy is that the representatives of MIA Archive presented fiction-documentary film “Who Killed Ilia” produced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to the guests. The film has permanently been presented in various regions of Georgia. More

The film Who Killed Ilia produced by the MIA Archive was shown at Telavi State University

The fiction-documentary film Who Killed Ilia which is about the assassination of Ilia Chavchavadze and his final path to Saguramo was shown in Telavi at IakobGogebashvili Telavi State University.
The event was attended by the MIA Archive Director Omar Tushurashvili, other representatives of the archive, Vice Rector of the MIA Academy PridonDiasamidze, Rector of Telavi State University AvtandilGheleghutashvili, Deputy Governor of Kakheti ZurabArsenishvili, representatives of Tbilisi city hall, historians, academic personnel and students. After the presentation held in Tbilisi, the film has been introduced in the regions of Georgia. More

Joint exhibition organized by MIA Archive and embassies of Czech Republic and Slovakia at the national library of the Parliament of Georgia

Exhibition 1989 organized by MIA Archive and embassies of Czech Republic and Slovakia was held at national library of the Parliament of Georgia. The event was attended by the Rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili, Ambassador of Slovakia to Georgia Rudolph Mikhalka, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Czech Republic Petr Drulak, Ambassador of Czech Republic to Georgia Tomash Pernitski, representatives of Georgian Parliament and Diplomatic Corps. The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of events that earned the name of Velvet Revolution. Rector of MIA Academy Nukri Gelashvili attended the opening ceremony of exhibition and delivered speech. He reviewed important and crucial events in histories of Georgia, Slovakia and Czech Republic. More
