In order to honor the memory of those who fell in the Abkhazian war, state flags were lowered on all administrative buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in connection with the 31st anniversary of the fall of Sukhumi.
The military escalation in Abkhazia started on August 14, 1992. The war lasted 13 months and 13 days.
