The officers of Isani-Samgori police division as a result of operative-investigative and searching activities detained previously convicted for theft Davit L (DoB 1999) and Giorgi E. (DoB 1997) for robbing St. Barbare church in group.
Late at night on October 14, detainees broke the door of the church located on Kindzmarauli Street, unlocked the donations box and appropriated cash as well as crosses, icons and other items owned by the church. As a result of operative-investigative and searching activities law enforcers managed to detain both of the detainees two days later. During the searching activities held in Davit L’s house police seized small icons, golden chains, ring, psalm and etc, while during the searching activities held in other detainee’s apartment law enforcers seized rings and bracelet owned by the church. Both of the detainees have already pleaded guilty.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of stealing committed by the group, article 177, II and III parts sub-paragraph A of the Criminal Code.
