The head of Central Criminal Police Department Colonel Vano Papiashvili, head of International Cooperation Center for the Fight against Crime of the same Department Vice-colonel Levan Chikvaidze and deputy head of the division against the fight with criminal world of the Main Division for the fight against the organized crime- Vice-colonel Mikheil Dzagnidze visited Ministry of Interior of Lithuania within the frames of the official visit.
During the official meetings Georgian delegation was hosted by Linas Pernavas – Police Commissioner General of Lithuania, Edvardas Sileris – Deputy Police Commissioner General of Lithuania, Rolandas Kiškis – Head of the Lithuanian Criminal Police Bureau and his deputies Andzejus Roginskis and Arturas Bazys.
The visit is aimed at sharing experience of the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania and reforms held in the angle of European integration in order to further implement the best practice of Lithuania in Georgia. The visit was also aimed at intensification of mutual cooperation between the law enforcing agencies of Lithuania and Georgia in the field of the fight against illegal migration and organized crime.
On January 14, 2015 “Agreement between Georgian Government and Republic of Lithuania on Cooperation in the Fight against Crime” was enacted, which was concluded on September 26, 2013. Thus, the mentioned visit is another step forward towards implementation of the mentioned agreement.
