Director of Central Criminal Police Department of MIA Ivane Papiashvili, head of the division for the fight against the criminal world of the same Department Mikheil Dzagnidze and Head of the National Central Bureau of Interpol Aleksandre Arakishvili are visiting National Police of the Ministry of Interior of France within the frames of the official visit. The meeting was organized by Lasha Medulashvili Police attach in the Republic of France from Georgia.
During the official meetings, Georgian delegation was hosted by the head of Main Division of the Central Division of the Criminal Police of National Police Main Division of the Ministry of Interior of France Republic, Deputy Head of the mentioned division, Deputy Head of the division for the fight against organized and financial crimes of the same central division, head of International Cooperation Division , Head of the division for the fight against cybercrime and Deputy head of regional division of the criminal police division under Paris Police Prefecture.
It is notable that under the initiative of the Georgian side the meeting between leadership of the Criminal Police was held for the first time. At the meeting sides discussed all topics relevant for Georgia within the contest of the Euro Integration. Discussions were also focused on issues connected with intensification of mutual relations in the field of organized crime, cyber security and the fight against narcotics and terrorism.
French colleagues thanked Georgian police for recently activated intensive police cooperation and made special emphasis on the trust formed towards the Georgian police, which was also strengthened by sending Lasha Medulashvili as the police attache to Paris from Georgia in September of 2014 and enactment of “Agreement between the Government of Georgia and the Government of the French Republic on cooperation in internal security matters” from December 1, 2014 which was signed in 2009. In response to the visit of the Georgian delegation French colleagues will visit Georgia in the nearest future.
