MIA representatives held meeting with pupils from public school N199 within the frames of anti-drug campaign and familiarized students with the goal and significance of the social campaign launched against synthetic drugs. Police representatives informed pupils on hazardous impact of so called “Bio Drugs”. Slogan of the campaign is “Changing attitude together”.
During the meeting MIA representatives presented video to the students, made for the anti-drug campaign. Doctors who participated in social videos inform public on threats and dangers of the so called bio drugs.
At the meeting pupils were informed that new “Law on Psychotropic Substances” was adopted under the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs which came into force on May 1. Sophio Kiladze, Head of International Legal Cooperation Division of the MIA International Relations Department explained to the pupils that according to the mentioned law manufacture, purchase, keeping, transportation, transfer or distribution, also illegal taking into or out of the territory of Georgia of a new psychoactive substances is prohibited and relevantly such actions will be the subject of criminal responsibility.
MIA representatives provided answers to all questions. Meeting with pupils was headed by Tata Asatiani, narcologist, who discussed negative effects of synthetic drugs.
