MIA representatives held meeting with students of Grigol Robakidze University within the frames of anti-drug campaign and familiarized students with the goal and significance of the social campaign launched against synthetic drugs. The meeting was held in the Q&A format. The issues of the hazardous impact of so called “Bio Drugs” were also explained by Mr. Zurab Sikharulidze the narcologist.
Mrs. Sophio Kiladze, Head of International Legal Cooperation Division of the MIA International Relations Department explained to the students that under the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “Law on Psychotropic Substances” was adopted which came into force on May 1. According to the mentioned law manufacture, purchase, keeping, transportation, transfer or distribution, also illegal taking into or out of the territory of Georgia of a new psychoactive substances is prohibited and relevantly such actions will be the subject of criminal responsibility.
During the meeting MIA representatives presented video to the students, made for the anti-drug campaign. Doctors who participated in social videos inform public on threats and dangers of the so called bio drugs. Slogan of the campaign is “Changing Attitude Together”. Aim of the campaign is the prevention of the use of synthetic narcotics and providing public with information on the mentioned subject.
