The employee of the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department of the MIA Special and Emergency Measures Center Shalva Bebiashvili and the Fireman/Rescuer of Imereti Emergency Management Division of the MIA Emergency Management Agency Amiran Doghonadze have successfully competed at Power Sports Black Sea Open Cup.
Shalva Bebiashvili took the first place in 110kg category. Additionally, Power Sports Athlete broke the European Record in two categories of Powerlifting – Bench Press and Deadlift. Amiran Doghonadze competed in under 100 kg category and took the first place. It’s noteworthy that Amiran Doghonadze is a titular athlete. He is a member of Georgian Strongman National Team. He is a prize winner of European and World Championships in Powerlifting and a four-time winner of Georgian Championship.
Georgia hosted such a a large-scale event for the first time. Up to 200 athletes from various countries participated in Batumi Championship held on August 15-16 with the support of two International Sports Federations – International Power Sports Union and World Powerlifting Alliance. The athletes had the opportunity to compete in various sports in different age and weight categories.
