District inspector-investigators of Ajara Regional Main Division–Nana Khaladze, Lela Kvantaliani and civil education teachers conducted lessons on legal culture in Batumi’s public school N23 and N16 for 10th grade pupils. The mentioned project “Legal Development Program” is held all across the country in which the Ministry of Internal Affairs is actively involved.
Within the frames of the Project -“Legal Development Program” which is implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science and with the support of the “PH INTERNATIONAL”, lessons on legal culture will be held in public schools of Batumi once a week and last for several months. The lessons are interactive, contain role plays and are aimed at awareness rising of the students about their rights and responsibilities in areas of rule of law and justice. MIA representatives who conduct lessons on legal culture on the regular basis are specially trained for the mentioned program.
The project is aimed at awareness rising of the students about their rights and responsibilities in areas of rule of law and justice. The topics of the manual for 10th grade pupils are the following: Concept and the meaning of the Legal Culture; Juvenile and Law; Violence (Domestic Violence, bullying at schools); Bad habits and negative consequences; Organized Crime (trafficking in Human Beings, Illicit trade of narcotics and arms); Judiciary.
The mentioned project is implemented with the financial support of the US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Lessons on law cultures are held in 20 public schools of Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi and Akhaltsikhe.
