Employees of the MIA Strategic Pipelines Protection Department came across the car accident while patrolling in the vicinity of village Atskuri. “Niva” vehicle went off the main road and fell into the Kura river gorge. The vehicle was saved from falling into the water by the trees. A female passenger suffered minor injuries, but her husband who drove the vehicle fell into the river and was carried away by water current.
Employees of the Strategic Pipelines Protection Department rescued the injured woman stuck in the vehicle hanging on the tree and called the patrol police and ambulance. The health condition of the woman is stable.
The MIA Emergency Management Agency continues search-rescue activities of the man fallen in the river.
