During his trip to Georgia, Minister of Interior of Latvia Rihards Kozlovskis along with Chief of the State Border Guard General Normuds Garbars visited the Border Police K9 Centre.
Head of the Border Police Dato Nikoleishvili received the guests and showed them around. The facilities of the K-9 Centre had been constructed by the US Embassy’s Defense and Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The Latvian Colleagues were able to attend demonstrative exercises. The counterparts discussed border cooperation development between Latvia and Georgia.
Two days earlier the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Georgia and Latvia had signed protocol to amend Agreement on “Cooperation in border security issues between the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the Republic of Latvia”. According to the changes cooperation between the countries in the field of border protection will be more enhanced and large-scale
