The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Proliferation Prevention program representatives, Don Brown, Elisabeth Dufrane and Mark Redzynski visited the MIA Border Police of Georgia.
The American officials were received by the Head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia, Major-General Zurab Gamezardashvili at the N1 Office of the GBP Land Border Defence Department in Batumi on March 31. The guests are expected to meet with the Deputy Head of the MIA Border Police of Georgia, the Director of the Coast Guard Department, I Rank Captain Temur Kvantaliani at the GCG Base in Poti. The purpose of the visit is to conduct requirements validation; the sides have discussed the specific directions and fields for future donation and support from the US Government to the Border Police of Georgia.
In the frame of the visit the DTRA representatives conducted the site visits at the Georgian-Turkish State Border to inspect the pre-selected land for the construction of the N2 Border Sector (Kirnati) and N4 Border Sector (Keda) of the Border Police N1 Office (Batumi). Don Brown, Elisabeth Dufrane and Mark Redzynski will stay in Georgia till April 3.
