Rescuers of Emergency Situations Management Agency of MIA launched search and rescue operation yesterday.
On April 21, Emergency Situations Management Agency received report that citizen, Gigi Tchintcharauli slid from the heel in Shatili. The citizen had hip and leg fractures. Border Police officers managed to descend the injured person from the heel.
As soon as the report was received rescuers’ team comprised of 10 people departed from Tbilisi and took painkillers with them in Shatili to assist the injured person. Due to the bad weather it was impossible involve helicopter in the operation, due to which rescuers had to walk 50 kilometers. As soon as the weather improved helicopter of the border police was involved in the operation and rescuers were able to transport the injured persons to Tbilisi.
